How Can We Create A Mental Health Strategy For Our Workplace?

May is mental Health Awareness Month

One in five American adults experiences a mental health condition each year. The vast majority of these individuals are of working age, and the key to helping them—and all employees—thrive is an inclusive, supportive workplace. To improve employee well-being, companies need to be intentional about how to approach mental health in the workplace beyond basic benefits and compliance.

The “4 As” framework is a key part of the Mental Health Toolkit, a resource for employers developed by the Employer Assistance and Resource Network on Disability Inclusion (EARN). In addition to specific strategies for implementing the “4 As,” this toolkit provides background and resources on workplace mental health and examples of related initiatives implemented by a variety of companies.
